A healthy J.J. Avila. The 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward injured his right ankle during a quarterfinal win over Fresno State. If he’s not able to play, the Rams will have a tough time making up for the loss of his team-leading 16.1 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.The first-team all-conference selection has been Colorado State University’s leading scorer in 14 games this season and leading rebounder in 12. Although the Rams won two games this season without him, those victories came at home against the two worst teams in the league — Nevada and San Jose State.Avila was scheduled for X-rays Friday morning and said he’ll do everything he can to play against the Aztecs.
