DENVER — It’s supposed to be all fun and games at the Colorado Rockies fantasy camp in Arizona.
But don’t tell that to 88-year-old ball player Lew Dunlap. He took a pitch that was a little close for comfort and he was ready to rumble.
Dunlap has always had, as he puts it, “A great love for the game.”
So the former college player got back in the game. He left his senior living facility in Denver for a five-day trip to Rockies Fantasy Camp.
While there he improved his game, made some great friends, some lasting memories and also one amazing story about how he almost charged the mound.
Nick Griffith met with Lew and has the story, and video of his near confrontation, in the clip above.
