Colorado Rockies LHP Jorge De La Rosa leaves spring training game vs. A's … – Purple Row

Colorado Rockies ace Jorge De La Rosa left the team’s spring training game against the Oakland Athletics on Friday in the third inning with left groin tightness, according to multiple reports.
De La Rosa was having trouble with his command early in the game, a situation that warranted a short delay while groundskeepers attended to the mound. Things didn’t get a whole lot better for the veteran left-hander; though he notched three strikeouts, De La Rosa surrendered two runs on three hits and a walk in his 2⅓ frames.
This spring hasn’t been a good one for De La Rosa. Each of his first two scheduled starts were pushed back as he dealt with the groin issue. He was still considered to be on track for the start of the regular season prior to today. The Rockies had him slated to start their home opener on April 10, but that could be in jeopardy now, depending on how soon he can make his next start and begin getting some innings under his belt.
De La Rosa posted a 4.10 ERA/96 ERA- in 32 starts for the Rockies last season. He’s owed a total of $25 million through next season.
