DENVER –- Denver Police say an escaped inmate is in custody.
The escapee set off a search near 46th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard midday Thursday.
FOX31 crews on scene report that police say the escaped man tried to hide in abandoned car.
Denver Public Schools said Centennial School was on lockout because of the search.
The escapee was identified as a parolee, Benjamin Knight, 26, according to the Department of Corrections.
Knight was on parole after serving time in the Department of Corrections for robbery and drug abuse, according to the DOC.
The latest update on Knight’s status according to DOC records shows that his parole has been revoked and he will be returned to custody.
