Denver police have identified the 55-year-old man they suspect triggered a four-vehicle crash Sunday that left two people dead and others seriously injured.Semere Dawit is suspected of vehicular homicide in the case. Police spokeswoman Christine Downs said he remained hospitalized on Monday after being seriously injured in the wreck.City jail records show Dawit is being held without bond.The crash happened at 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Colorado Boulevard at East Mexico Avenue.Police say just before the crash firefighters found Dawit slumped over the wheel of his vehicle at Colorado Boulevard and East Evans Avenue.When firefighters knocked on his window, Dawit sped away. Crews followed him and came upon the crash.Investigators say they don’t know why Dawit fled.Emergency workers took seven people to the hospital, where one was pronounced dead.
