Injury Report: Denver Broncos Backs Banged Up – CBS Local

When the Denver Broncos and New York Jets get together this Sunday, it will be two teams heading in opposite directions.
One team, the Broncos, is relentlessly pursuing a third Vince Lombardi trophy, while the other has lost four straight games and looks lost all-around. Denver is far from perfect, though, and they’re dealing with an injury to an important player in Montee Ball.
Last Sunday, Ball strained his right groin when he looked to plant and take off out of the backfield, only to slip on an Arizona Cardinals’ offensive lineman’s cleat and basically “do the splits” as he explained this week. While the MRI came back with good news, saying he only pulled and did not tear the groin muscle, Ball will be benched this week for sure and maybe longer than first expected.
Ball hasn’t put a timetable on his own return, telling the media Monday, “It’s another process I have to go through—a healing process. I’m most definitely going to listen to the training staff again, because they took care of me last time I went through something like this. It’s an unfortunate situation for me.”
“All I can tell you is that when I’m back, there will be plenty of the season left,” Ball finished.
