New Orleans Pelicans entered Sunday’s game against Denver Nuggets trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by a half-game because the Thunder beat the Chicago Bulls earlier on Sunday 109-100.
The Pelicans have won nine of their 11 games but they have not played since Tuesday night. Anthony Davis has averaged 29.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.2 blocks in five games since he returned from a sprainedĀ  shoulder injury on March 4 against the Detroit Pistons.
The Nuggets have won three of their last four games against New Orleans. But forwards Darrell Arthur, Wilson Chandler and guard Randy Foye are expected to beĀ  held out of the game.
Denver is 5-2 since interim coach Melvin Hunt took over for departed Brian Shaw.
Pelicans point guard Tyreke Evans is expected to play after missing Tuesday’s game with a sprained left ankle.
