DENVER – The last time New Orleans visited the Mile High City on Nov. 21, Denver’s starting shooting guard and center were Arron Afflalo and Timofey Mozgov, respectively. Three of the Nuggets’ reserves were Nate Robinson, JaVale McGee and Alonzo Gee. Afflalo finished tied for the game’s leading scorer with 19 points in a 117-97 victory over the Pelicans, while McGee delivered one of the best games he’s played in 2014-15, posting 14 points and eight rebounds.Three-plus months later, none of those players are on the Denver roster. Denver (20-38) ended NOLA’s only previous four-game winning streak Jan. 28. The Pelicans also have a chance to move into sole possession of eighth place in the Western Conference tonight, but that would also require Oklahoma City (32-27) losing earlier Sunday at the Lakers. The Thunder-Lakers game tips off at 5:30 p.m. Central and will be broadcast by ESPN.The Pelicans are facing a Nuggets team that has struggled in its current form, going just 2-18 in their last 20 games, but one of those victories was at the Smoothie King Center. New Orleans is focused on continuing to play at its recent level, which has resulted in success, despite not having Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday.“It’s an adjustment,” Pelicans center Alexis Ajinca said of playing a reconfigured Nuggets squad. “We don’t know who’s going to start right now (for Denver). But as far as I know, the last time we came here we lost by 20. So this is like a revenge game here.”“Really, every game we … – Click Here To Visit Article Source
