Joann Windholz (R – Adams County) took to Facebook with a comment that read in part:”….we must start pointing to who is the real culprit. The true instigator of this violence and all violence at any pph facility is pph themselves. Violence begets violence. So, pph, YOU STOP THE VIOLENCE INSIDE YOUR WALLS,” she wrote, referring to Planned Parenthood.Colorado Republican Party Chairman Steve House condemned the comments he said don’t align with party values.”I don’t agree with some of the comment I’ve read and heard and they certainly don’t reflect what the Colorado what the Republican party believes in and what the state GOP stands for,” House said. “When one of our own elected officials is saying violence is never the answer, ‘but’ and ‘violence begets violence,’ we’ve gone too far. It must stop and it must stop now,” said Amy Runyon-Harms of ProgressNOW Colorado.Rally organizers blamed what they call hateful rhetoric for violence against abortion providers, and named several more Colorado lawmakers in the process.”We are calling on politicians in Colorado and across the nation to apologize for the lies that are directly contributing to the politically motivated violence,” Runyan-Harms said.
