DENVER – Denver Police has identified a suspected shooter that initially left two people injured Thursday night in a southeast Denver apartment complex. Najib Abdinasir Mahamoud, who is considered armed and dangerous, is wanted for first-degree murder after he allegedly shot two people at the Spyglass Hill Apartments located at 7100 E. Mississippi Avenue Thursday evening. One of the wounded victims later died at a Denver hospital, police reported Friday morning.”I heard a few renditions of what I thought either were gunshots or fireworks, kinda of a popping noise, maybe like an automatic weapon or something,” said neighbor Jessica Thompson who heard the gunshots.

Mahamoud is 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds, a Denver Police Department spokesperson said in a statement. If you see Mahamoud, you are asked to call 911 immediately. Get breaking news on your phone, download the free 7NEWS app for iPhone/iPads, Android and Kindle.
